Museum, Village, Train

Step back in time!

This charming, interactive recreated village is home to the Muskoka Museum, Muskoka Pioneer Village 18 authentic pioneer buildings and the historic Portage Flyer Train. The train was part of the world's smallest independantly operated railway and traveled between Peninsula Lake and Lake of Bays until the 1950's. 

Located on Brunel Road in Huntsville. From Main Street, turn left at the lights just past the swing bridge. 

Open daily May - October 10am - 4pm.

Group of Seven Outdoor Gallery

A unique outdoor gallery tour showcases over 90 mural replicas of the works of the Group of Seven painters and the artist who inspired them, Tom Thomson. Thomson, who is also celebrated with a life size bronze statue outside the Algonquin Theatre, frequented Huntsville often with his fellow painters before his untimely - and still mysterious - death in the park.

Algonquin Provincial Park

Canada's oldest provincial park and wildlife sanctuary is a nature lover's dream, made famous by the Group of Seven painters and revered world over. Get your day-use park permits at the West Gate park entrance, about 30 minutes east of Deerhurst Resort on Hwy. 60.

Arrowhead Provincial Park

Welcome to Arrowhead - What You'll Like:

A charming provincial park on the Big East River and Arrowhead Lake, just 10 minutes from Deerhurst. Take Hwy 60 West, turn right at Muskoka Rd 3 lights, then turn right at Arrowhead Provincial Park Road.

Day use fee - $20/vehicle

  • 15km of hiking trails

Arrowhead Park is well known for their winter activities. Enjoy cross country skiing on groomed trails throughout the park, snow tubing, snowshoeing and the 1.5 km skating trail!

Hidden Valley Highlands Ski Area
Hidden Valley Highlands Ski Area, right next door to Deerhurst, takes pride in its friendly atmosphere and short line-ups. With 12 slopes, a terrain park, three quad chair lifts and a handle bar tow, it is an ideal location for families and for those who want to learn.
