Introducing the Cast of Decades 2014
Glenn Bladon | Guitarist, Vocalist
This Edmonton, Alberta native has been a professional musician since the mid-70's. Several Canadian/U.N. Forces stage shows have taken him overseas to Germany, Cyprus and Israel as well as the Canadian Arctic. Glenn's musical background includes rock, jazz, blues and musical theatre as well as radio and television productions. Glenn has been a featured performer and writer of Deerhurst Resort’s stage shows since the Shania Twain days (1990).
Serge Charlebois* | Performer
Serge is happy to be returning for his eighth season in a Deerhurst live show. Serge is an adopted Huntsvillian getting used to fatherhood, who grew up in Ottawa where he cut his performing chops as a competitive ballroom dancer and in school plays before moving to Toronto to study musical theatre at the Randolph Academy. Since then, his career has taken him to stages and sets in Calgary ("Grease" Stage West), Thunder Bay, back to Toronto and most memorably to Rio de Janeiro ("Manthem" Burger King ad).
Leaynne Connolly* | Performer
Leaynne grew up singing and dancing her way into the theatre of her hometown of Cobourg, Ontario where her father taught her to believe in the power of bright lights and the smell of grease paint. Creatively, she has dabbled in public school theatre, dinner theatre and many corporate productions. Leaynne has performed with various legend groups, was the leader of her own dance band and has toured the country extensively. DECADES is a chance for Leaynne to "come home” to her musical theatre roots.
Monica Nowak* | Performer
Monica is so excited to be performing for the 2nd year in a row with this super talented cast!riginally from Pickering, Ontario she is a graduate of Randolph Academy and has spent the past few years living in London England and New York City singing and acting. Film/TV credits include: "King of the Camp"(YTV), "The Listener" (CTV webseries), "Blood Junkies" (NYC feature film), short film "Ibrain", "Curious and Unusual Deaths"(Discovery). Theatre credits include: "Jasper Station"/ "Race Day"/"Sweet Soul Music" ( Lighthouse Festival Theatre), "Perfect Wedding" (Victoria Petrolia Playhouse), "Blood Brothers" (Theatre Aquarius) "Go West" (Broadway workshop). Michael Esposito II | Performer
Michael Esposito has been performing as both an actor and a singer for over ten years. He is a graduate from the University of Toronto and Sheridan College joint acting program. Michael recently starred in Adam Mathias and Jonathan Monro’s A History of Summer at the Summerworks Festival. Favorite performances include: “Baby John” in West Side Story (The Grand Theatre), “Balladeer” in Assassins (London Fringe Festival) and “Moritz” in Spring Awakening (Spriet Family Theatre). He has also performed in many venues such as Casino Rama, Canada’s Wonderland, and numerous festivals and sporting events. Recently he has released his début CD Night and Day which is available for purchase on iTunes.
Natasha Lowe | Performer
Natasha’s love for dance was evident at a young age and soon became a driving force in her life. She began dancing at age 11 and received training in many different forms of dance. As a professional, Tasha has had the pleasure of performing in many shows across Ontario, as well as traveling the world working for Norwegian Cruise Lines. She spent two years as part of the Deerhurst cast before returning to Toronto to focus on teaching but Natasha’s love for the stage couldn’t keep her away from the limelight for long. She is excited to be back on stage as a featured performer, choreographer, creator, and Dance Captain in Decades.
Kristin Long | Performer
Born in Pickering Ontario, Kristen started dance lessons at the early age of 3. In 2009 she was accepted into the Contemporary Dance Program at the University of Calgary. After two years in Calgary Kristen moved to Toronto to further her training at George Brown College and completed their Commercial Dance Program. Kristen was hired by “The Dance Company” in Toronto as a resident dancer. Some of her credits include: Disney’s Magic Kingdom, Canadian Dance Tour, Degrassi Season Finale 2011, “Threads” (Toronto Film Festival), New Years Eve (Fallsview Casino), Toronto Santa Claus Parade, Toronto Luminato Festival. In 2012 Kristen travelled north to instruct dance at the Muskoka Dance Academy and joined the Decades stage show at Deerhurst Resort as a featured dancer.
Will Main | Bassist, Vocalist
Will follows in the footsteps of two generations of musicians in his family who have performed in Muskoka. Will got his start in the "Black Hole Cabaret" while in high school where he won the prestigious "Performer of the Year" award. Will has attended the Humber College Music Program and toured with a number of bands thoughout Ontario. He is thrilled to return to his hometown of Huntsville and perform in this high calibre production of Decades.
John Nobile | Technical Director
John’s musical background includes attending Humber College where his major was arranging. He started performing at age 16 and had his own band “Wave” for ten years, which travelled across Canada. John has been working at Deerhurst Resort for more than 20 years where he played keyboards in the show for three years before moving behind the scenes as Technical Director and sound designer.
